Flexible Child-centred Preschool Care
Our Busy Butterfly class at Umalas Kids Club offers a vibrant mix of structured learning and imaginative exploration. Designed for children aged 3 to 4, our trusted and engaging preschool program follows the globally respected British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, widely accepted as the Gold Standard for Early Years Education.
Whether in our spacious and bright classrooms or our vibrant playground, children develop essential academic, emotional, and social foundations — all while enjoying their learning journey in a fun, age-appropriate setting.
What Your Child Will Learn in Our Busy Butterfly Class

We bring the seven EYFS learning areas to life with active discovery, meaningful play, group collaboration, real-world connections, and age-aligned routines that foster growth in every area:
Personal, Social & Emotional Development
Through guided group play and daily rituals, children strengthen their emotional resilience, empathy, and cultural understanding, while developing confidence and positive relationships with peers and educators.
Communication & Language
Our language-rich setting empowers children to express themselves through storytelling, songs, and structured conversation, allowing them to build a rich vocabulary and practice expressive language. They practice using descriptive language, learn new vocabulary, and develop confidence in communication in both English and Indonesian.
Physical Development & Wellbeing
Children refine their motor skills (both gross and fine) through activities such as kid-friendly yoga, climbing, balancing, threading, and drawing (among others). We also introduce and model healthy eating habits, helping children understand how to care for their growing bodies.
Literacy Through Jolly Phonics & Colourful Semantics
Using a structured, engaging approach, children begin reading and writing with confidence. They form letters, build simple sentences, and enjoy group reading that supports both fluency and comprehension — all within joyful sessions that nurture early reading love and confidence.
Early Maths Exploration Through Play
Preschoolers count, compare, sort, and measure. From recognising coins to understanding patterns and shapes, children build math skills in a way that’s fun, practical, and developmentally appropriate. Maths is introduced through meaningful, sensory experiences that connect to everyday life.
>Understanding the World Around Us
Through guided science experiments, seasonal themes, cultural celebrations, and sensory activities, children learn about the world, broaden their worldview, and develop a curiosity about people, places, technology, and nature.
Creative Learning Through Art & Imagination
Children explore their creativity through activities such as painting, role-playing, music, and storytelling. They express themselves freely while developing coordination, focus, and emotional resilience.
Curriculum Overview – A Balanced Approach
Our child-centred curriculum supports each child’s unique pace of development while offering a clear, play-based pathway toward school readiness and social-emotional growth.

Various Attendance Options to Fit Your Family’s Life
Whether you’re a Bali resident or visiting for the season, our flexible preschool scheduling allows you to choose the rhythm that works best, with morning, afternoon, or full-day sessions available.
A minimum of three days of attendance per week is required to ensure children receive consistent engagement.
Four- and five-day options allow for more profound continuity and more meaningful learning.
Each session follows the British EYFS curriculum, allowing us to blend structure with playful, child-led exploration.
Tailored Attention: Our Class Size & Ratios
We put Your Child First
We believe in quality over quantity! That’s why, while EYFS guidelines recommend a 1:13 ratio, we maintain a 1:8 ratio, which is well above the standards. This ensures more personal interaction, greater emotional safety, and the space to support each child’s unique growth.
Whether your preschooler is diving into sensory play or building words during phonics, they’ll be seen, heard, and guided with care. Alternatively, this means more learning, more laughter, and more substantial developmental progress.
