Welcome to Umalas Kids Club! Our British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum is designed to support the overall development of children aged 3 to 4 years old.
Here are the yearly objectives for the Busy Butterfly class:
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development:
Through engaging play and structured activities, children will develop essential social skills such as negotiation, compromise, and respect for themselves and others. They will gain an understanding of right and wrong and learn to navigate the consequences of their actions. Additionally, children will cultivate concentration, cultural awareness, and collaboration with their peers.
Communication and Language Development:
By the end of the year, children will confidently use complex sentences, incorporate prepositions and conjunctions, and express their ideas with clarity and coherence through engaging activities such as storytelling, songs, and morning circle sessions aimed at expanding their vocabulary and language skills.
Physical Development:
Through gross and fine motor activities, children will develop balance, coordination, and strength, fostering self-confidence and self-awareness. They will also learn the importance of a healthy diet and understand the need for dietary variety.
Literacy:
Utilizing Jolly Phonics and colourful semantics, children will progress in their literacy skills. By the end of the school year, they will be able to recognize and write words, read and write simple sentences, and comprehend basic grammar rules. Children will also expand their vocabulary in alignment with unit themes.
Mathematics:
By the conclusion of the school year, children will demonstrate proficiency in numerical concepts, including counting up to 100, recognizing shapes, and solving simple mathematical puzzles such as Sudoku. They will also develop an understanding of measurement, quantity, and time concepts, as well as coin recognition and basic clock reading skills.
Understanding the World:
Through hands-on activities, discussions, and experiments, children will explore various aspects of the world around them, including people and communities, the environment, and technology. They will develop critical thinking skills and an appreciation for similarities, differences, and patterns.
Expressive Arts and Design:
Through creative exploration, children will delve into the world of art and music, experimenting with colours, textures, and sounds. They will learn to express themselves through various mediums, from collages to music appreciation sessions featuring renowned composers.
