GO GREEN!

EXTRA SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AT THE UMALAS KIDS CLUB

In addition to our educational programs, we offer extra school activities for children from 6 months to 5 years old.

We regularly change and modify our extra-curricular activities so that they remain attractive to our children and parents.

Currently, we offer four different extra-curricular activities:

We have worked hard to establish a fantastic extra-school program of interdependent activities to help children better understand the world around them and the importance of caring for it. The idea is to use the elements worked during the different classes, to reach a higher final objective.

This program, called “Go Green”, aims to make children (and parents) understand the importance of reducing our waste and carrying out active recycling, and how these actions can help us improve our daily life and that of the world we live in.

This program is divided into three parts, as follows:

  • Arts & Crafts: crafting recycled household items, building a garden bed, simulating a garden with insects and plants, creating a recycling corner at school and understanding its concept through play. Promotion of a plastic-free and waste-free lifestyle.
  • Gardening: composting, planting, transplanting to the garden bed. Water and measure plants, smell, touch, taste different herbs and vegetables and explore with kids natural wonder and curiosity.
  • Conscious cooking: Mix infused water with herbs and fruits, Mix infused oil with herbs and spices, Mix tea with dried herbs and spices, make your own pesto and dips, Prepare vegetables etc.

It is strongly recommended to follow these 3 additional school activities all together so that your children can understand the purpose in the best possible way. All these activities are interlinked, allowing a global understanding of the subject, while calling upon a variety of specific skills, favourable to the proper development of your children, whether motor or global.

However, it is possible to follow only one extra-curricular activity if this is your choice.
